Life Equals Blog

the starving entrepreneur

Friday, October 22, 2010
(This post was originally posted in an old blog Kyle and Graham started when Life Equals was a different branding. For simplicity, the company and product names have been updated. No need to create confusion. We thought we'd share these posts as a tribute to where we came from, and also to share a little bit larger view of our story. Enjoy!)

Starving for what?  Success.

You know you’re hungry for success in your small business when you are waiting for the gates to open at the Plaza Public Library with the street people and UMKC students.

Unlike them, you aren’t looking for a place to quietly read the newspaper, or turn in the midterm that’s past due.  You're there because the library provides a quiet place to build a business: tables, chairs, a closed door ‘office’ (aka the Study Room), white walls, a clock, and no distractions...

... other than, of course, the kids trying to destroy the CowParade Cow that’s placed in the Kid Corner for its eminent destruction...

Most important: free rent.
