Friday Tracks: This week's Friday Tracks is Words to Build a Life On by Mike Crawford. Mike is actually the worship pastor of the church I attend, Jacob's Well, and this is one of the songs we sing with fair regularity — it's just become a part of our DNA.
Personally, I've been listening to, singing along with, and resetting my life to these words for the last 5 or 6 years. The lyrics are potent and every time I interact with it, I am stirred again to reevaluate the way I'm living and interacting with those around me.
Regardless of your beliefs and thoughts on spirituality in general or Christianity specifically, I think you'll find this song stirring.

Friday Tracks: About a year ago I posted about a concert I had gone to of a little known band out of Seattle, the Head & the Heart. My reflection was about the passion and energy they possessed — they seemed to just love what they were doing and the opportunity to travel the country doing this thing they loved. I certainly left inspired. Passion, after all, is contagious.
This week, twitter told me that they had just released a video to their song Down in the Valley which features footage from that tour. As I watched it, I was again struck by that very same passion and energy I witnessed while watching the show.
Also, a fun side-note: at that concert I met for the first time a photographer named Carl. He was friends with people in our group, so he drove in from Oklahoma to catch the show. Carl now lives in Kansas City, has become a dear friend, and has even contributed some of his photography for our What Life Equals posters. Fun how life grows and evolves in a year! Life=Life Project Update: We are pleased to announce that the Life=Life Project has grown to donate 39,758 children's multivitamins. To think we reached 30,000 children's multivitamins on January 10th... a little over a month to donate 10,000 children's multivitamins. Amazing!!
