2012 is almost upon us!! I hope everyone has a good weekend celebrating New Year's Eve.
I guess I'm still hung up on this covers idea. This week, I truly can't decide which I like better: the original or the cover. Both are outrageously good.
This time of year (and by "this time of year", I mean ever since the day after Thanksgiving), Christmas music absolutely dominates the airwaves. Regardless of religious beliefs, Christmas music seems to mark this season preparing for time with family & friends, traveling and looking ahead to a new year.
Thus far I've restrained from Christmas music infiltrating this weekly Friday Tracks, I figured you got enough of it elsewhere. But then I received a call last week from a college roommate declaring that a mixed CD of Christmas music I made a decade ago!! was still his favorite of the season... I'm a bit proud.
So here are a couple of my favorite Christmas songs, all of which I believe were on that album...
John Lenon "Happy XMas (War is Over)"
Bruce Springsteen "Santa Claus is Coming to Town"
Run-DMC "Christmas in Hollis"
Mariah Carey "All I want for Christmas is You" (dont judge me — we all know this list wouldn't be complete without a diva)
Friends, from all of us at Life Equals, Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!! We're deeply thankful to have you a part of this journey.
Christmas is just around the corner. This year give the gift of health to your loved ones. Plus, with Life Equals, it's 2 gifts for the price of 1 — for every purchase, Life Equals donates an equal amount of children's multivitamins to a malnourished child.
Also, as a reminder, today is the last day to order to receive it by the 23rd.
No Christmas music yet... maybe next week. If you're lucky.
I've always loved the song Hallelujahoriginally sung by Leonard Cohen. There are so many covers of it it's ridiculous. Remarkably, many of them are outrageously good.
A month ago, my friend sent me an email of songs she's listening to & said simply: "Kate Voegele's version of Hallelujah is the best."
I think she might be right. Enjoy.
(Also, in case you missed the memo, orders placed by this Monday, the 19th, will arrive on the 23rd in time for Christmas)
We're running it now until December 17th. So swing in to get a great drink & give a day of health to an undernourished child through the Life=Life Project.
(Oh. a bit of fun news on the Life=Life Project front: we're closing in on 25,000 multivitamins donated. Thank you!!!)
